South Bank Link Road
Project Overview
Rainton Construction completed a vital infrastructure project enhancing connectivity. The one-mile-long South Bank Link Road features footpaths, a cycleway, and a single carriageway, providing access to a large site at Teesworks, including the SeAH Wind facility.
Works included deep drainage, installation of utilities, street lighting and signage, fencing and road, footpath and cycleway construction.
Our in-house surfacing division carried out all surfacing work, and the material was manufactured in-house by local roadstone, ensuring a seamless delivery.
Challenges
Working closely with the client’s remediation consultant, the Rainton Construction team navigated the challenges associated with previously remediated ground. Their expertise and experience were also crucial in mitigating the impact of the water table during drainage installation.
Summary
The South Bank Link Road is a critical component of Teesworks’ development, providing improved access and supporting the region’s first, largest and most successful freeport.
