Gateshead MSCP Enabling Works

MGL Earthworks undertook the site clearance and bulk earthworks packages on the Gateshead Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) works, in partnership with Rainton Construction. The works involved general site clearance, topsoil removal and disposal, contaminated material classification and bulk contaminated material disposal to licenced facilities.

Both hazardous hotspots and non-hazardous bulk materials were disposed off site. Over 17,000t was removed to the correct disposal location, safely and at bulk speed, whilst maintaining difficult local traffic routes and traffic management restrictions.

The works were undertaken in close proximity to other subcontractors, including grouters, pilers and groundworkers.

Despite difficult working conditions, we were able to hand over the entire project on time and to exacting technical standards to ensure the follow-on trades proceeded without delay.
