Project Overview

Rainton Construction carried out surfacing works to a new temporary parking facility for Darlington Railway Station on the former cattle market site and installed a temporary speed table.

The temporary car park created 467 parking spaces and is a short-term measure to enable the Darlington Station Improvements scheme to proceed. Temporary parking will be closed once the new multi-storey car park is fully operational.

Sustainability

This project has provided local benefits and contributed to sustainable practices. All materials supplied by Tynedale Roadstone are from our Barton asphalt facility. The equivalent of 183,023 plastic milk cartons and the residue of 5,965 tyres were diverted from landfill, and 40.9 tonnes of CO2 were saved during this project.
