The Pilgrim’s Quarter development in the heart of Newcastle is nearing completion. MGL Demolition completed large-scale demolition, earthworks, and remediation on the 13,500m² site, playing a crucial role in enabling further development.
As part of this scheme, Dex Car Park, Bamburgh House, and Commercial Union House were demolished. Cariol House was also partially demolished, with its Grade II listed façade retained and incorporated into the new development. It was one of the longest and highest façade retention schemes in the UK.
Positive client feedback was received throughout, and the team worked closely with the project stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction.
Our exceptional delivery on this project was recognised at an international level, as we achieved the Best Project Award at the World Demolition Awards in Sweden, highlighting our dedication to safety, sustainability, and social value.
MGL Demolition has paved the way for Pilgrim’s Quarter, and we are proud to have been part of this transformative project, contributing to Newcastle’s economic growth and regeneration.
