MGL Group is championing construction careers and apprenticeships across the region. As part of National Apprenticeship Week, our Social Value Team has engaged with schools, colleges, and community groups, participating in employability events such as careers fairs, discussions, and mock interviews.
Team MGL offered valuable insights into the wide range of roles within the construction industry, highlighting opportunities at MGL Group and providing expert advice at New College Durham, Framwellgate School Durham, Middlesbrough College, Redcar & Cleveland Training & Employment Hub, and Hartlepool College. They also conducted mock interviews at Washington Academy, boosting students’ confidence and refining their interview techniques – crucial skills for navigating the job market.
The My Future: My Choice event, held at St James’ Park, was attended by thousands, including sixth-formers, college students, and parents. Team MGL joined other local exhibitors who were on hand to provide more information about the opportunities in the North East. Our Social Value Manager, Greg, also attended Newcastle College’s SME Apprenticeship Event, a chance for employers to discover the benefits of apprenticeships.
We are committed to boosting employability in the North East and future-proofing the construction industry by nurturing the next generation of professionals. Our involvement in National Apprenticeship Week reinforces our dedication to creating pathways for young talent and contributing to the industry’s sustainable growth. These initiatives support individual career development while addressing the construction sector’s skills gap, ensuring a robust and skilled workforce for the future.
