MGL Group is delighted to announce that Sam Leafe has completed his Higher Apprenticeship in Mineral Products at Derby University. He has received a well-deserved promotion to Technical Supervisor at our Tynedale Roadstone facility in Barton.
Sam joined MGL Group in 2022 as a Trainee Asphalt Technician. Demonstrating exceptional commitment and a strong work ethic, he quickly became a valued member of the team. During his apprenticeship, Sam acquired a comprehensive range of skills and specialised knowledge, including advanced asphalt testing and anomaly identification.
His contributions extended to key innovative projects, notably the development of Hazigrip anti-skid asphalt and MGL Group’s pioneering net zero asphalt. These projects underscore Sam’s ability to apply his learning to real-world applications and contribute to cutting-edge advancements within the industry.
