Safely Blasting Limestone at Longhoughton Quarry

At Longhoughton Quarry, we supply high-quality construction materials such as limestone and whinstone for our regional projects. These materials can also be purchased by third-parties through Tynedale Roadstone.

Recently, 40,000 tonnes of limestone was safely extracted using explosives to blast behind the rock face.

The team drilled holes and detonated the explosives to dislodge the limestone, which was then processed.
