Safely Blasting Whinstone at Longhoughton Quarry

At Longhoughton Quarry, we supply high-quality construction materials to the relevant BSEN-13242 and SHW-803 criteria. These materials serve our regional projects and can also be purchased by third parties.

Recently, 20,000 tonnes of whinstone rock was safely blasted using 4600 kg of explosives.

The blasted rock will be processed to create a variety of whinstone materials, from prime single-size aggregates to various sub-base products.
