MGL Group, a family-run business, has partnered with Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) to enhance skills and training in secure inpatient services at Ridgeway, Roseberry Park Hospital.
The donation will support the joinery department, enabling patients to develop valuable woodworking skills. MGL Group’s local suppliers, Jewson Civils Frazer and Workwear Express, have also donated tools and PPE to support this important initiative.
Patients will use the donations to create wooden products like outdoor furniture and garden planters. The North East based company will then donate these items to local communities in areas where it is working on projects.
Gillian Reader, MGL Group’s Director, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, saying, “We’re proud to partner with Ridgeway to support their patients’ wellbeing and development. Our donation will help TEWV provide the best possible care.”
Jamie Todd, director of operations and transformation for adult learning disabilities, child and adolescent mental health services and Ridgeway secure inpatient services for the Durham, Tees Valley and forensic care group, added: “Thank you to MGL Group and their suppliers for their support. The donated resources will help the people we care for learn new skills and improve their confidence. We can’t wait to see what they create.”
The donations will contribute to TEWV’s mission of providing high-quality mental health care and improving the lives of individuals in the region. They reinforce MGL Group’s commitment to supporting mental health initiatives and help create a more inclusive and supportive environment for those in need.
