Rainton Construction, supported by MGL Earthworks, continues to make significant strides on the Blyth Bebside project as part of the Morgan Sindall Infrastructure delivery team.
Following the successful installation of the cycle bridge, Rainton Construction assisted in achieving another major milestone: the completion of the new station footbridge. Our recent construction works to the Up and Down Platform reinforced concrete foundations allowed Morgan Sindall Infrastructure to safely install the footbridge, staircases, and lift shaft steel frame during a weekend possession.
During an 18-week blockade, we successfully constructed two 100-m-long platforms, including the reinforced concrete foundations for lift shafts, motor rooms, a footbridge, ancillary bases, drainage, ducting, and a geotechnical retaining wall. This vital structure will provide passengers safe and convenient access to the transformed Northumberland Line, ensuring a seamless travel experience for residents and businesses.
We’re excited to see this project progress towards completion and to see its positive impact on the community.
Blyth Bebside Station is a significant component of the Northumberland Line Project, which will revitalise rail services between Northumberland and Newcastle. This project will help to boost the local economy by providing residents with direct access to job opportunities, shopping, and tourism attractions in Newcastle city centre.
We’re proud to contribute to this transformative project, which will positively impact the region by driving economic growth, improving social outcomes, and promoting a more sustainable future.
