Rainton Construction's Latest Milestone at Blyth Bebside

Rainton Construction, supported by MGL Earthworks, continues to make significant strides on the Blyth Bebside project as part of the Morgan Sindall Infrastructure delivery team. We’re excited to see this project nearing completion and the positive impact it will have on the community.

Following the successful installation of the cycle bridge, we’ve achieved another major milestone: the completion of the new station footbridge. Our recent construction works on the Up and Down Platforms allowed us to safely install the footbridge, staircases, and lift shaft steel frame during an 18-week blockade.

During the blockade works, we successfully constructed two full 100m platforms with lift shafts, ancillary bases, drainage, and ducting. This vital structure will provide passengers with safe and convenient access to the railway line, ensuring a seamless travel experience for residents and businesses.

Blyth Bebside Station is a vital component of the Northumberland Line Project, which will revitalise rail services between Northumberland and Newcastle. This project will help to boost the local economy by providing residents with direct access to job opportunities, shopping, and tourism attractions in Newcastle city centre.
