Tynedale Roadstone Makes a Second Donation to Gosforth Nature Reserve

Tynedale Roadstone, part of MGL Group, recently donated a truckload of stone material to Gosforth Nature Reserve for the second time. This is one of the oldest nature reserves in the North East, cared for by committed volunteers.

Last year, we donated Whinstone to create accessible pathways. However, they needed to be refurbished with fresh stone after recent bad weather. This will prepare the reserve for the warmer months, when school trips, community groups, and the general public regularly visit.

Tynedale Roadstone donated 25 tonnes of Type 1 Whinstone Sub-Base stone material produced at our quarry in Longhoughton, Northumberland.  The material was laid by the dedicated volunteers and community groups that care for the Gosforth Nature Reserve.

Our donation ensured that the nature reserve could remain accessible to a wide range of people, including wheelchair users. Fine material was added to the sub-base to ensure this.

MGL Group is committed to creating social value and positive impacts in the communities in which we operate. This is another example of our ongoing efforts to give back and make a difference.

We are delighted to support Gosforth Nature Reserve for a second time. The sub-base means that the paths will be accessible to all and can continue to be used by the public. This donation is a small token of our appreciation for their hard work.
