New drone images show the progress of the demolition of Castlegate Shopping Centre in Stockton.
The removal of the Swallow Hotel has taken place, with the building completely cleared. Preparation works for the demolition of Castlegate Shopping Centre mall are also taking place.
The demolition continuing towards the Millennium Footbridge and is set to move north up the shopping centre in the coming weeks, with work starting on the removal of Spencer Market Hall.
The final tenants from Castlegate are preparing to relocate to new premises in Wellington Square. B&M closed its doors in February, with work starting on the new store in the former M&S unit on the High Street very soon.
Barclays is set to close on Friday 14 April with the new store opening in Wellington Square at the end of that month.
As demolition activity becomes more visible from the High Street, efforts will be made to minimise disruption to businesses in the immediate vicinity of the shopping centre and surrounding town centre.
