The MGL Group has taken part in the first BringItOnNE Engineers Exhibition this week at The Stadium of Light.
The event brought together regional and national companies from seven different areas of engineering and allowed them to showcase the wide range of engineering career opportunities available to the young people accross our region.
Talks, demonstrations and even opportunities to 'have a go' allowed pupils from schools as far north as Alnwick and as far south as Stokesly to explore different aspects of engineering and how it is intertwined with their daily life.
Aimed at pupils from 10 years to 14 years, the objective of the event was to allow companies to showcase their local activites and projects and then perhaps influence the students to persue a career in engineering before they commit to their GCSE options.
The MGL Group was represented by Rainton Construction in the Civil Engineering sector, who provided an insight into a career in Civil Engineering and the associated job roles.
Managing Engineer Adam Redshaw and Site Engineer Gary Theakston demonstrated their Total Station to students, and explained its use in the early parts of the construction process, and a Tenstar Plant Simulator allowed them to try their hand at being a plant operator.
Over 2250 pupils along with their teachers visited the BringItOnNE Exhibition during the two day event.
